Together, the works of Jan Nakao, Laurie LeBreton, and Macus Alonso offer a compelling exploration of the unseen forces that shape human experience.

My current body of work revolves around sculptural pieces crafted from reed, waxed thread, and Kozo (handmade Japanese paper).

Through the manipulation of reed, I construct dimensional environments that connect me to the traditional artistry of basketry from my childhood home in Galicia, Spain—a place that will always carry special meaning for me.

The creation of this body of work is intense, repetitive and intuitive. These repetitive movements provide a space where I can lose myself completely. The resulting abstract sculptural vessels serve as visual reflections of my life journey—navigating through different places, adapting to diverse environments and cultures.

This journey is marked by breaks, sharp twists and turns, resilience, and adaptation—a narrative that resonates with the shared human experience.
